This is why we choose to have our crowns, inlays and onlays fabricated at a professional dental laboratory. The technology exists to make these restorations in our office during your visit. However, we feel that a certified lab technician can better design a crown to fit your mouth than a milling machine. The technician can blend the porcelain to create unique shading which closely matches your natural teeth. The other plus to using a dental laboratory is that they can place metal inside the porcelain on a crown to provide the strength necessary to withstand the pressures of chewing. We feel that the higher quality both in looks and function are more than worth the extra time. |
